The Beacon School is delighted to be working in partnership with MCR Pathways, a nationwide programme designed to transform lives by helping young people realise their full potential. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated mentor to be our MCR Pathways Coordinator to join a school that has high expectations and high aspirations for all of our students.
Applications are welcome from both experienced Mentors and those with the relevant knowledge, skills and experience in a related role and those who are able to manage a team.
This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2025.
About MCR Pathways
MCR Pathways is a transformational secondary school mentoring and talent development programme supporting vulnerable young people experiencing disadvantage to realise their full potential through education. The MCR Pathways programme is now being launched across Surrey and we are recruiting a Coordinator to implement the programme within our school.
The successful candidates will be based at The Beacon School, but supported by local, regional and nationally based MCR teams. Within this role, you will be an integral part of the school community, liaising with education colleagues and external stakeholders, and supporting the delivery of the programme to young people.
What we are looking for
For this role, you will need to be passionate and driven to ensure all disadvantaged students are supported to find, grow and use their individual talents. Ultimately to ensure that their education outcomes, employment choices and life chances are maximised.
You will have experience of working with young people, be highly organised and infectiously ambitious for all the young people you work with.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, management of interventions and mentoring allocations across the school.

The Details
Start Date: As soon as available
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pattern of work: 08.30 – 16.30hrs (Monday to Friday). Term Time plus 2 weeks (first and last week of summer holidays)
FTE Salary: £30,000 pa
Actual Salary: £28,262 pa
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31 August 2025
