We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance & Administration Assistant to join our support staff team at de Stafford School. This is a permanent, part-time role (30 hours per week, term time only) providing vital financial and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our school operations. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook, delivering excellent service to staff, students, and parents, and liaising effectively with the Schools Support Team.
Your opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the smooth running of de Stafford School’s financial and administrative operations. As the first point of contact for finance-related queries, you’ll manage orders and invoices using Sage, reconcile deliveries, and maintain robust systems to ensure compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook. You’ll also oversee ScoPay transactions, liaise with suppliers and the Schools Support Team, and support lettings invoicing. The role includes general administrative duties, exam invigilation, and break cover, offering variety and the chance to work closely with staff, students, and parents in a supportive school environment. Training and professional development are actively encouraged.
What we're looking for:
- Good general education including English and Maths at GCSE (Grade C or above or equivalent)
- Experience in a finance role or other relevant demonstrable experience
- Ability to develop and maintain finance administration procedures
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain professional and maintain confidentiality
- Effective communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining appropriate boundaries with young people

de Stafford is an 11-16 comprehensive school
located in Caterham, Surrey which joined GLF Schools MAT in December 2016. The
school has a PAN of 180 students per year group. The school serves
predominantly the local Caterham community with the majority of students
residing within the CR3 catchment area.

The Details
Start Date: November 2025
Salary: GLF Associate 2 Point 1 £22,918.66 to Point 16 £24,872 (dependent on experience)
Actual Salary: £16,851.95 to £18,288.24
Hours: 30 hours per week (09:00-15:00) - 40 weeks per year
Closing Date: 1st October 2025
