Join a forward‑thinking Chemistry Department where curiosity, challenge and creativity shape every lesson.

Wellington College is a dynamic, ambitious and values‑led community where pupils are encouraged to explore their passions and achieve their full potential. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400 acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work. We are now seeking a passionate Teacher of Chemistry to join our thriving academic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher — including strong postgraduates considering a route into teaching — to contribute to a department renowned for academic ambition, excellent pupil outcomes and a culture of curiosity. You will teach Chemistry across the 13–18 age range, inspiring pupils through thoughtful explanation, practical investigation and a commitment to high standards. Alongside your teaching, you will play an active role in Wellington’s vibrant boarding and day community, supporting pastoral life and contributing to the co‑curricular programme that enriches our pupils’ experience.

The Chemistry Department offers a stimulating curriculum across GCSE, A Level and IB pathways, encouraging analytical thinking and independent exploration. Pupils benefit from enrichment opportunities such as Olympiad preparation, clubs and project‑based learning, and staff collaborate closely to share practice, develop resources and support professional growth.

You will bring strong subject knowledge, a genuine passion for Chemistry and a commitment to creating inclusive, engaging and challenging learning environments. Whether newly qualified, experienced or joining from postgraduate study, you will be eager to develop your practice, contribute to departmental innovation and support pupils of varied backgrounds and abilities.

Applications will be considered upon receipt, and early applications are strongly encouraged. The first stage of the recruitment process will be held via Microsoft Teams.

All candidates must apply via our online application form. A CV may be uploaded in support of the application, but the Wellington application form must be completed in full for your application to be considered. We do not accept CV‑only applications, in line with KCSIE safeguarding requirements. Full role details are available in the Job Description.

Closing Date: Applications reviewed upon receipt – 12th April

Interview Date: Microsoft Teams interview as the first stage

The College reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date.
