Your opportunity

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Cover Supervisor, who is passionate about teaching and learning with an efficient and organised approach to support the smooth operation of the school through delivering planned lessons to our students.

The successful candidate will be able to deliver lessons to full class groups (based on pre-prepared work), manage the classroom environment to promote good behaviour for learning, and liaise with teaching colleagues on their return to ensure a seamless handover so that continuity of learning is sustained at a high level for our students.

We are all focused on doing what is right for our students and pride ourselves on being highly inclusive. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and nurturing team in supporting progress and attainment within the classroom, developing student learning to improve life chances.

What we are looking for

• To ensure all students are effectively tested and relevant access arrangements and concessions are in place for all external examinations.

• To provide effective cover supervision for lessons on a regular basis, providing stability and continuity for students whose lessons are affected by short-term teacher absence.

• To be a qualified teacher

• To have completed and hold the relevant level 7 qualification for exams access and concessions.

• To be up to date with all JCQ guidance on exams concessions

• Adaptability, resilience and the ability to think on your feet are essential in this varied and evolving role, and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. Strong ICT skills and a good command of English and Maths are necessities.
