Your opportunity
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Level 3 Nursery Practitioner in our nursery class to play a key role in supporting the Room Lead and the Early Years Lead in supporting a child with additional needs. You would be both helping to support a specific child with their learning needs as well as working alongside other nursery practitioners. You will work under the guidance of the nursery room lead and the Early Years lead. Experience of with working with children with additional learning needs would be a benefit.
What we are looking for
We require the successful candidate to:
- Hold a Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification
- Be able to develop positive relationships with young children
- Be able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child you are supporting
- Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
- Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
- Be a confident and clear communicator with parents
- Be flexible with regard to other classroom work
- Have experience of working with children with additional learning needs
About Lightwater Village Infant and Junior school
Our school stands at the heart of the village community of Lightwater. We offer an outstanding start to education for children from 2 to 11 years old, consistently achieving excellence, yet also engaging children in imaginative and exciting themes whereby learning comes alive.
Our School sits within a newly established cluster of schools, overseen by a Regional Director. Along with Lightwater Village Infant and Junior School, our cluster includes the following other schools; Springfield, Cordwalles, Pine Ridge and Lorraine. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across this cluster, to share expertise and experience, ensuring all children in our schools receive an excellent education and reach their potential. The Details
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £23,914 to £24,144 FTE
Pay Scale: Associate 2.1 - 2.5
Actual Salary: £17,858.57 - £18,030.33
Hours: 31.25hrs a week Monday to Friday (Term time - 39 weeks)
