Hillcroft Primary School is looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our warm, inclusive and dedicated team on a temporary basis. This role offers a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day, supporting a child with additional needs to thrive, grow in confidence and access an engaging curriculum.
We welcome applications from individuals with a passion for supporting children - whether you have previous SEN experience or transferable skills from childcare, youth work, health & social care, coaching or similar people‑focused roles. Training, guidance and ongoing support will be provided for the successful candidate.
Your opportunity
You will work closely with the Class Teacher to support a pupil with specific additional needs, helping them access learning and make progress both academically and emotionally. This is a rewarding role where your patience, positivity and relationship‑building skills will have a daily impact.
This position is offered on a temporary contract, linked to the needs of a specific child.
What we are looking for
- A kind, patient, and resilient individual enthusiastic about supporting young children.
- Can remain calm and reassuring when faced with unusual or challenging behaviour.
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Works effectively as part of a warm, collaborative staff team.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with parents and staff.
- Has GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- SEN experience is beneficial, but not essential
