Greenway Junior School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a fixed-term position (funding-related) until 31 August 2027 and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Your opportunity

This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll work directly with children, providing tailored support that helps them develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Whether you're delivering targeted interventions, adapting learning activities, or celebrating a child's breakthrough moment, you'll play an important part in their educational journey.

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support children with special educational needs and disabilities to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals.
  • Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive school environment where every child can flourish.
  • Benefit from ongoing training, support, and opportunities to develop your skills and experience within a collaborative team.

This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning. If you're looking for a part-time position where you can make a lasting impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.

What we are looking for

  • Good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Ability to support learning activities, clarify instructions, and engage children effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate records.
  • Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexible, calm under pressure, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives.
  • Experience working with children with significant or complex needs is desireable.
