Join Salfords Primary School as a 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant!
Your opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional SEND learning support assistant to join our inclusive school who has a passion for and experience in supporting the inclusion of neurodivergent children who are motivated and excited about being active members of our school community, and sometimes need intensive support to navigate social interactions and to regulate their emotions.
We know we're looking for someone who is brilliant at building relationships, is consistent, can hold boundaries and has high expectations whilst being warm and kind. Our children need someone who will support them to know they belong in our school, who is invested in working in partnership with our families and who is a great communicator.
Whilst being our greatest privilege, working with children can be demanding. We will ensure that you are supported by providing ongoing professional development and supervision to support you in your role, which will include Team Teach training as part of your induction and the option of supervision from an Educational Psychologist or Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. If you are looking to build up your experience with children and in a school setting before taking on further post-graduate training in Educational Psychology or as a BCBA this could be a great option for you.
What we're looking for:
- Good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Ability to support learning activities, clarify instructions, and engage children effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible, calm under pressure, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives.
- Experience working with children with significant or complex needs is beneficial but not essential.
